INFINITE REFLECTION
Interactive art installation - Creative coding
An immersive wall installation that visualizes the fluidity and distortion of time through surreal desert landscapes. Using creative coding, the work explores how time bends and stretches, symbolizing the deep connection between land, home, and ancestral roots.
Viewers are drawn into a dreamlike desert scene where warped, shifting visuals create an endless horizon through infinite reflection. Glimpses of the legendary belly dancer Samia Gamal emerge and dissolve within the landscape, her cinematic presence adding layers of cultural memory to the experience. As a star who graced both Egyptian and Hollywood films, Gamal's image reinforces the piece's exploration of time's fluidity—her performances captured in one era now exist suspended between past and present, memory and projection.
The installation creates a contemplative space that encourages reflection on identity and our relationship with the natural world. It evokes a profound sense of wonder and introspection, inviting viewers to experience the elastic nature of time and its intimate ties to place.

Role & Contributions
- Concept & Design: Developed the vision to merge surreal desert landscapes with the fluidity and distortion of time, emphasizing ancestral connections and dynamic visual storytelling.
- Programming: Implemented visuals using TouchDesigner, leveraging creative coding to produce immersive, interactive environments.
- Lighting Design: Designed lighting effects that enhanced the sense of time bending and distortion, aligning seamlessly with the shifting visual landscapes.
- Fabrication & Visualization: Collaborated on 3D modeling in Rhino and Grasshopper to refine components and forms, and oversaw CNC fabrication for precise construction of the installation.
Technical
- Powered by a Raspberry Pi for seamless performance and reliable visual content storage.
- Enabled real-time video streaming via UDP protocol over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, with a local website for uploading and accessing content from a cloud-based library.
- Created and manipulated dynamic, real-time visuals using TouchDesigner.
- Designed 3D visualizations of components in Rhino and Grasshopper to ensure precise planning before fabrication.
- A collaborative project with Aidan Lincoln, merging advanced technology with innovative design to redefine interactive digital art.
